The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Forest Treat arrived in 2026 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection. The official description positions it as a gourmand floral built on creamy milk, forest honey, and white florals, a profile that leans warm and edible while retaining enough floral lift to keep things interesting. Mahsam Raza, the nose behind this particular composition, treats it as a study in contrasts. Milk and honey deliver a soft, almost dessert-like opening, while the white florals push toward something more aromatic. The accord structure reads yellow floral, leather, sweet, animalic, woody, honey, powdery, vanilla, and musky all at once, which signals a composition built around layering rather than a single clean trajectory.
What makes the composition interesting is the marriage between two impulses that usually stay apart. Milk and honey bring the dessert register, soft and almost edible. Ylang-ylang and white flowers push toward the exotic, that yellow-floral territory where sweetness turns narcotic. Then the leather and sandalwood arrive at the base, pulling everything back down to earth. The accord structure reads yellow floral, leather, sweet, animalic, woody, honey, powdery, vanilla, and musky all at once, stacking multiple registers into a single profile.
The evolution
The first spray is a wash of milk and honey, almost dairy-warm, with ylang-ylang threading through like incense smoke caught in sugar. The opening feels soft and enveloping, with the creamy notes doing most of the heavy lifting and the floral elements adding a faint aromatic hum beneath. As the top settles, the white florals open up, giving the sweetness a more narcotic, almost tropical shape. The transition from the creamy opening to the floral heart is gradual, and the milk notes gradually fade into the background while the florals move forward. The heart settles around the midphase, where vanilla and sandalwood take over the conversation. The florals don't vanish, but they recede into a soft hum, leaving the woody and creamy elements to do the talking. In the later stages, the leather arrives, smooth and slightly worn, pulling the composition toward something more grounded.
Cultural impact
Forest Treat by The Dua Brand leans into dense, layered compositions. The yellow floral, leather, sweet, animalic, woody, honey, powdery, vanilla, and musky accord structure signals a fragrance built around stacking rather than stripping down. It leans toward the gourmand side without abandoning its floral and woody architecture, and the cream-to-earth arc gives it a shape that reads both indulgent and grounded. The combination of milk, honey, ylang-ylang, white florals, leather, sandalwood, vanilla, and musk places it in a lineage of compositions that treat sweetness as a starting point rather than a destination.
