The composition draws on the same elemental choices that defined the original: a crisp herbal opening where basil and bergamot carry a bright green snap, a warm drydown anchored by sandalwood and tonka, and a marine-leaning heart that pulls the whole profile toward something coastal and slightly briny. Oakmoss and birch hold the base together, giving it the kind of structural weight that keeps the scent close to skin rather than letting it float off into the air.
The interesting move is the starfish accord, a synthetic marine molecule that sits in the heart and gives the composition its salt-kissed signature. Most aromatic fougères build their heart around florals, using lavender or geranium to soften the transition between the bright top notes and the warm, resinous base.
