The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
As I Wish: Nectar arrived in 2026 from The Dua Brand's Dua Designer Line, a collection that takes recognizable fragrance territory and renders it into something you can actually wear. The name says it plainly: this is a wish, rendered in juice. Mahsam Raza composed the formula, and the brief reads like sunlight through sheer curtains. Bergamot, orange blossom, and pear open the door with a crisp, almost edible brightness that feels immediately familiar yet freshly mixed. The orange blossom carries a soft, honeyed facet that warms the opening without tipping into syrup, while the pear adds a dewy, green-edged sweetness that keeps everything light on its feet. Tuberose absolute takes the room next, and this is where the composition finds its center of gravity.
What makes the composition worth a second look is the restraint around the tuberose. Tuberose absolute can dominate a blend, tipping green and waxy and almost carnal. Here it sits inside a frame of citrus brightness and creamy vanilla, so the white floral reads clean rather than heady. The pear adds a watery sweetness that keeps the orange blossom from going soapy. Bourbon vanilla in the base does what it always does: softens edges and adds the impression of skin warmth without sugar overload. The whole pyramid is built on a citrus-floral-gourmand handshake that feels effortless, even though assembling it without one note swallowing the others takes careful hands.
The evolution
The first twenty minutes belong to the fruit. Bergamot cuts clean at the top, orange blossom sweetens the edges, and pear floods the opening with something cool and almost edible. Then the tuberose absolute swells in, and the composition pivots. That bright, juicy opening recedes, replaced by a creamy white floral that feels denser and warmer, like stepping out of direct sun into shade. The vanilla arrives before the tuberose finishes talking, and the two blend into something that smells close to skin. White musk tightens everything underneath. On fabric the vanilla clings longest, sometimes showing up the next morning as a faint sweetness in a scarf's fold. On skin the tuberose fades faster than the base, leaving a musky vanilla warmth that sits close and stays quiet for the rest of the day.
Cultural impact
As I Wish: Nectar offers a study in how to bottle daytime radiance in floral terms. It leans into the territory of accessible white florals, the kind of composition designed for daytime wear, warmer months, or anyone drawn to that luminous, slightly creamy floral character. Within the broader conversation around this style of fragrance, it sits comfortably among compositions that prioritize presence over projection, intimacy over impact.
