The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The name says it all, and nothing at all. 'you found me...lostinflowers', the brand's own copy, captures that electric collision when two wanderers finally meet. The scent translates into an 'ethereal and profound' experience built from pure floral essences and oud. With creative direction from Helena Christensen, the composition features florals that refuse to apologize for blooming. A chypre structure gives the fragrance its foundation. Lost In Flowers proves that Strangelove could do intimacy through excess, not just smoke and darkness.
There's a tension here: florals and oud exist in different worlds. One suggests lightness, beauty, air. The other suggests darkness, decay, something animal. The oud doesn't compete with the champaca and gardenia, it frames them, makes them feel less delicate and more insistent. Almost uncomfortably beautiful. The saffron and cardamom in the heart add warmth without sweetness, pushing the composition toward spice rather than sugar. But the density, the sheer volume of floral material, makes it modern.
The evolution
The opening announces itself immediately, lily of the valley's clean brightness, then marigold's herbal warmth, then cardamom's spice cutting through like clean heat. The florals take over as the top notes settle. Jasmine and champaca arrive together, dense and humid, the kind of tropical richness that feels like stepping into a hot house. The oud doesn't arrive dramatically, it's already there, waiting beneath the flowers, becoming more apparent as the top notes fade. The composition shifts as time passes. The florals don't disappear, they deepen, becoming resinous rather than fresh. Gardenia and sandalwood wrap around the oud, creating warmth that reads as skin-like, intimate. The drydown holds for hours, a fragrance that lingers long after application.
Cultural impact
Lost In Flowers has found its audience among collectors who seek density and presence over mainstream florals. The composition attracts those who want a floral that behaves like an oriental, warm, resinous, with enough oud to ground the sweetness. It's not a fragrance that fades into the background. The dense floral structure creates an intimate, assertive presence that stays close and personal throughout wear.
