The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Markéta Maf released Whispering Fields in 2022 as part of Space Fluid's growing catalogue of narrative-driven compositions. The brand approaches fragrance through the lens of composed imagery, treating each scent as a tableau translated into aroma. Whispering Fields sits within that framework, a tableau of open landscape rendered through botanical and spirituous materials. Space Fluid describes these as artisan-painted perfumes, and Whispering Fields is a sandalwood grove where Angelica, Lavender, Osmanthus, and Helichrysum anchor a composition, while tuberose spreads outward into seemingly infinite space.
Space Fluid is the house behind Whispering Fields, with Markéta Maf releasing the composition in 2022 as part of a catalogue that has continued to expand. The composition itself opens with a green, almost pharmaceutical lift, angelica and ginger slicing through the cooler pear and strawberry to create a sensation of walking into a field at the wrong time of day, when the light is sharper than expected. The strawberry reads less like fruit and more like a crushed leaf, present but never sweet.
The evolution
Whispering Fields opens with a green, almost pharmaceutical lift, angelica and ginger slicing through the cooler pear and strawberry to create a sensation of walking into a field at the wrong time of day, when the light is sharper than expected. The strawberry reads less like fruit and more like a crushed leaf, present but never sweet, more vegetal than confectionary, and the pear adds a faint bruised sweetness that grounds the brightness without dulling it. Within the first twenty minutes, the absinthe arrives, a dark aniseed shadow that softens the green edges and pulls the composition toward something warmer, almost resinous.
Cultural impact
Whispering Fields is a sandalwood grove where Angelica, Lavender, Osmanthus, and Helichrysum anchor a composition, while tuberose spreads outward into seemingly infinite space. The opening carries a green, almost pharmaceutical lift, angelica and ginger slicing through cooler pear and strawberry to create a sensation of sharpened light across an open stretch of land. The strawberry reads less like fruit and more like a crushed leaf, present but never sweet, more vegetal than confectionary.
