The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Roberto Verino founded his Valencia-based fashion house in 1975 with a focus on Mediterranean tailoring and understated elegance. In 2012, the brand asked perfumer Veronique Nyberg to create a fragrance that embodied a woman's subtle shine. Nyberg answered by combining luminous florals with warm honey and amber, crafting a scent that feels like golden light captured in a bottle. The challenge was balance: bright enough to feel alive, soft enough to feel Intimate.
The note selection reflects a philosophy of contrasts. The opening uses tropical fruit to create immediate brightness, while the heart relies on florals that feel gentle rather than overpowering. Osmanthus brings an apricot nuance that adds depth without heaviness. The drydown anchors the composition in amber and honey, creating warmth that extends the luminous character into the final stage. Tog ether, the notes build a fragrance that feels cohesive from start to finish.
The evolution
The fragrance begins with a vivid tropical burst of passion fruit and pomegranate, underscored by lotus for a clean, aquatic edge. The heart opens gradually, revealing lily of the valley, osmanthus, and white peony in a smooth, layered transition. By the mid-stage, the florals have taken full command, feeling dewy and slightly sweet. The drydown shifts into a warm amber and honey blend that clings close to the skin, with musk adding a soft, personal finish.
Cultural impact
Wearers often describe Gold Diva as the scent of a sun‑kissed Mediterranean garden, making it a favorite for summer evenings and garden parties. Its luminous opening and warm drydown have earned it a place among fans of fresh‑floral‑fruity perfumes, often compared to other light‑hearted, elegant women’s scents from the early 2010s.
