There's a powderiness here, but it's the kind that comes from the raw ingredient itself, not from anything added to soften it. Tonka folds in early with its almond-sweet warmth, and heliotrope spreads a creamier, almost marzipan haze over everything. The saffron in the base pulls things drier, lending a faintly leathery bitterness that prevents the sweetness from ever tipping over.
