The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The name says everything. My Naked Truth is about authenticity, the fragrance that doesn't perform, doesn't project, doesn't demand. Created by perfumers Christiane Plos and Amandine Clerc-Marie, this is the scent that arrives when you've stopped trying to impress and started wanting to simply belong to yourself. The brief was simple: something that feels like it was always there, just closer than you realized, waiting to be found.
The choice of cotton flower as a structural note is the quiet rebellion here. Often relegated to supporting roles in fragrance pyramids, cotton flower gets center stage in My Naked Truth, and it earns it. The combination with osmanthus is unexpected too. Japanese osmanthus carries a rare apricot-jammy quality that adds a subtle, unusual sweetness. These two materials talk to each other in a way that keeps the composition from feeling like a generic floral-fruity template. The real skill is in making something intimate without making it invisible.
The evolution
The opening is all brightness. Apple blossom and litchi arrive together, clean, sweet, a little tart. Calabrian bergamot adds a crisp edge that keeps things from going flat. Within 30 minutes, the heart begins to show. Apricot takes the lead, soft and full, while osmanthus and wild rose fill in the spaces between. The transition isn't dramatic. It's more like watching someone relax into a room. By the second hour, the base arrives and stays. Cotton flower, sandalwood, cedar, a warm, powdery close that clings. Six to eight hours later, it still smells like skin.
Cultural impact
My Naked Truth occupies a particular space, not trying to compete with niche or luxury, simply offering a reliable, personal option for everyday wear. The name promises something honest, and the composition delivers. Warm, skin-like musks and soft floral whispers unfold gently over time, creating an appeal that doesn't demand attention, or need to fill any room. It's the kind of scent you repurchase without fanfare, simply because it's genuinely you.
