The beginning
Quasar Next Disney 100 Anos Simba launched in 2023 as part of O Boticário's Quasar Next line, a series of licensed Disney tie-ins celebrating the centennial of the studio. Perfumer Leonardo Lucheze composed this entry around the idea of Simba's journey from the Pride Lands, translating the African savanna into a green, aromatic composition. It's a Simba rendered through cool, green materials rather than the warm, golden route a savanna theme might suggest, giving the release its own personality within the line. Other entries in the series covered Stitch and Divertida-Mente 2, each one a different facet of the same collectible concept, with additional references to The Mandalorian and Wakanda Forever appearing elsewhere in the broader Disney celebration.
What makes this composition unusual is the decision to lean fougère and mossy rather than sweet or resinous. The top is built around yuzu, violet leaf, and water mint, a trio that reads sharp and aquatic before the first heartbeat of citrus has even registered. The heart is where the unusual material shows up: Sichuan pepper and Aqual, sitting alongside the aromatic and herbal accords that anchor the middle phase.
