Launched in 2018 as part of Nature's Racconti collection, Maresale is the ocean entry in a line that captures a vibrant suggestion of a moment in each release. Not the dramatic open-sea kind of ocean. The shoreline kind, where salt and sandalwood trade places and the whole composition stays within arm's reach. The Racconti line is built around the idea of a protagonist-essence: one material or mood around which everything else orbits. For Maresale, that's salt. Everything else, the lemon brightness, the cedar backbone, the powdery freesia, exists to give that salt a stage.
What makes Maresale interesting technically is the choice to thread the salt through every phase rather than confining it to the top. The official description frames it as marine, but the accord list reveals something more nuanced: this isn't ozonic or synthetic-aquatic in the way many ocean-themed fragrances lean. The salt reads mineral and organic, supported by lemon and freesia on top and grounded by sandalwood and Nootka cypress below.
