Why it exists.
The beginning
Modern Magic launched in 2024 as an answer to everyday enchantment. Melted Magic emerged from the brand's debut collection, each scent built from a creator's personal narrative and translated into fragrance by a professional perfumery team. Perfumer Constance Georges-Picot shaped the composition around green fig's velvety coolness, then layered it against suede to bring warmth back into the picture. The green fig note opens with an almost translucent freshness, cool and silky, while suede adds a soft, tactile quality that rounds the edges and gives the fragrance its distinctive character. There is something inviting about the way these two elements interact, one crisp and verdant, the other smooth and enveloping, creating a scent that feels both refreshing and grounded, modern yet intimate.
What makes Melted Magic work is the fig. Not fig leaf, not dried fig, but the fresh, slightly milky green fruit. It opens cool and bright, almost dewy, then softens as the florals arrive. The orris root is doing quiet work here, too. Iris doesn't usually show up in a fragrance positioned as an everyday wear, but it gives the heart a powdery elegance that keeps the scent from feeling flat. Brazilian rosewood adds warmth without heaviness, bridging the gap between fig's green freshness and the amber-musk base. It's a composition built on contrast: cool top, warm base, powdery heart holding everything together.
The evolution
The opening hits bright and green. Bergamot zest gives it sparkle, but fig is the real character here, almost translucent in its freshness. Thirty minutes in, the florals arrive. Jasmine softens the green, orris root adds powdery elegance, and suddenly the composition feels more composed than it did at launch. Brazilian rosewood holds the middle with quiet warmth, its woody sweetness weaving through the floral layer without overwhelming it. Then the base takes over. Amber and Kashmiri musk settle into the skin, their rich, resinous quality adding depth and a subtle creaminess that lingers. The drydown is intimate and close, a gentle presence rather than a bold statement, wrapping the wearer in a soft, warm embrace that feels personal and understated.
