The name carries obvious mythological weight, but the fragrance itself is more restrained than that suggests. Where a god of the sea might call for thunderous aromatics and salt-crusted intensity, this is the calm beneath the surface. Cool iris over warm, white oud and amber. The composition reads as a study in duality, water and wood moving in counterpoint, neither overpowering the other. The base combines White Oud, a cleaner reading of oud than its Middle Eastern counterparts, with Orcanox, listed among the base notes for its depth and warmth. The evolution
The opening belongs to cardamom, warm and slightly green, like biting into a pod that hasn't fully dried. It doesn't sparkle so much as smolder, setting up a contrast with what comes next. Iris arrives in stages, first as a cool rooty dust, then blooming into something almost metallic, the way light catches on moving water.
