The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Potion Enchantée arrived in 2026 as part of Le Monde Gourmand's collaboration with Disney's Alice in Wonderland, a pairing that makes intuitive sense. The brand has always built its catalogue around edible, evocative compositions, and few fictional worlds are as steeped in curious tastings and mysterious liquids as Wonderland. The result leans into raspberry and lemon for that first vivid sip, then opens a door into a garden of white florals before the woodier base notes anchor the whole thing in something that feels grounded rather than fantastical. The collection is vegan, consistent with the brand's broader approach of making fragrance feel generous rather than gatekept.
What makes Potion Enchantée interesting is the tension between its fruit top and its woody base. Raspberry and lemon promise a candy-bright opening, but the white florals (lily of the valley, peony, star jasmine) refuse to let it stay simple. Star jasmine in particular brings a sweet, almost indolic depth that keeps the fruity notes from reading as juvenile. Then sandalwood, musk, and blue cedarwood step in to ground everything, turning what could have been a single-note sugar rush into something with a proper arc. It's a structure that respects the wearer's intelligence while still delivering immediate pleasure.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes are a burst. Raspberry hits cold and bright, the lemon adding a clean sparkle underneath, and the peach blossom softens the edges just enough to keep it from feeling sharp. Then the white florals arrive, and this is where the fragrance starts to distinguish itself from the blue candy-sweet compositions in its weight class. The jasmine and peony give the heart a soft, slightly creamy quality, like a garden after rain. The fruit doesn't vanish, it recedes, becoming a warm undertone rather than the headline. Around the three-hour mark, the sandalwood and cedarwood take over. The musk softens everything further, and the drydown becomes a warm, slightly creamy wood with a trace of the fruit still clinging to it.
Cultural impact
As part of Le Monde Gourmand's Alice in Wonderland collection, Potion Enchantée sits at a specific intersection. It reads as a fun, wearable entry point rather than a collector's piece. The fragrance takes the playfulness of a licensed novelty and grounds it in genuinely wearable composition, raspberry and lemon up top that catch the light, white florals in the heart that soften the edges, and a sandalwood and cedarwood base that gives it real staying power. It's the kind of scent that wears easily through warm weather, light enough not to overwhelm, layered enough to keep you leaning in for another sniff.
