The beginning
The Mon Premier Cristal collection marked a new gesture from Lalique, luxury made accessible through everyday ritual. Sensuel arrived in 2017 as the collection's L'Absolu de Parfum, composed by Karine Dubreuil-Sereni. Where Lalique's bottles have always been collector's objects, Sensuel was designed to be used. The name says it all. Sensuel is warmth, comfort, and presence, oriental richness distilled into something effortless enough for a Tuesday, refined enough for a Saturday night. It wraps the wearer in amber light and soft spice.
What makes Sensuel's structure unusual is the powder-to-warmth trajectory. Here heliotrope takes center stage, bridging fresh lily of the valley into the deep sweetness of vanilla and tonka. The bergamot opening is also atypical, not tart or sharp, but already softened, as if the citrus had been preserved in powdered sugar rather than expressed fresh. That unexpected gentleness sets the tone: Sensuel wants to comfort, not impress.

That powdery deception holds. Then heliotrope arrives to claim what the bergamot started, deepening the sweetness while lily of the valley adds a brief flash of freshness.
