The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Cosmic 2.0 arrived in 2025 as the next chapter in a fragrance universe Kylie Cosmetics built from scratch. The original Cosmic established a warm floral amber that felt magnetic. A new angle emerged with the same addictive quality and slightly altered trajectory. Cosmic 2.0 reconfigured the template: pear accord and pink pepper essence replace the citrus-floral opening, while vanilla orchid accord and lavender essence form a heart that leans herbally soft rather than bright. The chrome sculptural bottle marks visual departure while staying in the same cosmic family. Same universe. New angle.
The pear-lavender pairing is the unexpected move here. Pear tends to pull gummy or candy-like in mainstream fragrance, something about the accord choice and concentration keeps this one light, almost translucent. Pink pepper doesn't add heat so much as it adds sparkle, a quick brightness that fades before you can name it. The real story is in the heart: lavender essence done soft, not sharp. Not the lavender of soap or cupboard sachets, something creamier, cushioned by vanilla orchid. It reads as aromatic and warm simultaneously, which is harder to achieve than it sounds. The sandalwood in the base does quiet work: it keeps the drydown from dissolving into pure abstraction. Nothing here shouts.
The evolution
The pear opens clean. A little juicy, a little green, barely sweet. Within minutes the pink pepper appears, not spice, just a flicker of something bright that could almost be citrus. Then it mellows. The lavender takes over, but it's tempered by vanilla orchid, so instead of herbal sharpness you get warmth with a clean edge. It sits close to skin for a while. The amber builds slowly, sweet and balsamic without ever becoming heavy. Sandalwood arrives last and keeps everything grounded. The result is skin-warm and intimate. Not a fragrance that fills a room, one you notice when someone leans in close.
Cultural impact
Cosmic 2.0 targets the sweet-fruity-floral-amber territory that made the original Cosmic feel magnetic. The chrome bottle nods to the original design while marking a visual departure, maintaining the cosmic aesthetic across the line.
