Oud Pour Blueberry landed in 2018 as part of Khadlaj's Oud Pour Series, a collection that takes the brand's familiar territory in oud compositions and pushes it somewhere unexpected. The brief reads simple on paper and difficult in execution: take something plush and sweet, then anchor it with the kind of resinous weight that defines the house's style. Blueberry was the choice, and it's a fruit that reads jammy, almost candy-like at full volume. Surrounding it with oud and amber risks tipping the whole composition into dessert territory. The perfumers kept the heart exposed, let the fruit breathe, then drove the base deep enough that the sweetness never floats off.
The interesting move here is restraint at the top. Bergamot and raspberry open bright, almost cocktail-like, before the blueberry settles in and takes over the heart. The fruit sits between freesia and vanilla rather than drowning in sugar, which keeps a clean edge to the accord. The oud arrives late, not as a wall but as a current underneath. Sandalwood softens where agarwood sharpens. The accord stays readable from first spray to last because nothing overwhelms the fruit.
