The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Fizzy Sorbet began as a limited gift with purchase, 15ml offered alongside the brand's Summer Yummer fragrance. Customer requests were so insistent that Jousset released a small 50ml limited edition in July 2025. The brief was deceptively simple: capture the feeling of cold dessert on a hot day. Perfumer Jimmy Bodin reached for the memory of sorbet carts and ice cream trucks, the particular relief of something frozen and sweet when summer heat turns everything slow and sticky. The name says exactly what it means.
What makes Fizzy Sorbet work is the tension between cold and warm. The top accord, lime sorbet, orange zest, frosted mango, arrives frozen, almost astringent in its citrus brightness. That chill doesn't disappear entirely. It lingers beneath the coconut ice cream and French vanilla, keeping the sweetness honest instead of heavy. The hibiscus and peach melba heart adds a floral lift that prevents the composition from flattening. It's dessert, yes, but with a window left open.
The evolution
Lime sorbet hits first, sharp and sparkling, like biting into a frozen cube of citrus. The orange zest adds dimension, not just acid but actual zest oil, that bright essential oil smell. Thirty minutes in, the mango emerges, rounder and riper, cushioned by coconut ice cream that arrives smooth and a little creamy. The hibiscus doesn't announce itself so much as lift the composition, adding a tropical floral note that keeps the fruit from feeling jammy. By hour two, the French vanilla and white musk have settled into the skin. The sillage drops from moderate to intimate, but the longevity holds, six to eight hours on most skin types. The drydown isn't dramatically different from the heart; it's simply quieter, sweeter, and closer to the skin.
Cultural impact
Fizzy Sorbet arrives at a moment when ultra-gourmand fragrances are experiencing renewed interest among fragrance enthusiasts, particularly for warm-weather wear. The blend of citrus sorbet and frozen mango taps into the broader cultural trend toward bright, effervescent compositions that feel refreshing rather than heavy. Since 2020, the market has seen growing demand for tropical and dessert-inspired scents during summer months, and Fizzy Sorbet positions itself within this space with a distinctly French sensibility.
