Insomnia Ritual arrived in 2021 as Faviol Seferi's follow-up to the debut Insomnia, the composition that put this perfumer on the map. Ritual takes the same conviction and pivots from the original's gourmand territory into something fruitier, rosier, and more overtly sweet. The word "ritual" matters here. Where the first Insomnia captured sleeplessness as a condition, this one treats it as practice. A deliberate return to the same hour, the same mood, the same sensory space, refined and sweetened. The juice itself leans into a gourmand-floral hybrid that few independent releases attempt at this scale. Pear and saffron open the door, rose and ambergris hold the middle, and bourbon vanilla anchors a base that feels built for close-quarters intimacy.
The composition's core tension lives between the pear-and-saffron opening and the bourbon vanilla drydown. That pairing is unusual. Pear reads as bright, almost edible, while saffron carries a leathery, almost savory warmth. Most fruity-oriental fragrances resolve toward warmth early.
