The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Woody Raspberry arrived in 2022 from Dossier, a brand built on the idea that fine fragrance shouldn't require a fine fortune. The composition draws direct inspiration from Paco Rabanne's Lady Million, a scent long associated with glamour, sparkle, and confident femininity. Dossier took that glittering template and reinterpreted it through their own lens, adding a layer of accessible warmth. The result is a flanker that honors the original's energy while leaning further into fruit, white florals, and a honeyed amber base. Woody Raspberry delivers on a specific kind of olfactory promise: a composition that moves beyond simple fruit sweetness and into something with genuine architectural depth.
The composition is built around a deliberate counterweight between bright fruit and grounded base. Raspberry is sharp and often thin on its own. Pair it with neroli and lemon and it can read as a cocktail, not a perfume. The perfumer counters that brightness with neroli's bitter-green edge and a substantial white floral heart of orange blossom, gardenia, and jasmine. Then the base shifts the entire architecture: amber and honey coat the sharpness in warmth, and patchouli grounds the sweetness with earth.
The evolution
The opening belongs to raspberry, but not the jammy kind you find in body sprays. It's sharp, almost tart, cut by lemon and the bitter-green lift of neroli. There's a freshness here that reads more like fruit skin than fruit flesh. As the citrus burns off, the white florals take over quickly. Orange blossom arrives first, carrying its honeyed edge, then jasmine and gardenia fill in behind it. This is where the scent gets its body, where it stops being a top-note composition and starts feeling like an actual perfume. The florals are lush but not heavy, more like warm air carrying pollen than a bouquet on a table. The honey note becomes more apparent here, threading through the orange blossom like a shared accent. As the hours pass, the fruit fades. The florals have softened to a powdery whisper.
Cultural impact
Woody Raspberry draws clear inspiration from Paco Rabanne's Lady Million, a fragrance that became shorthand for a particular kind of confident, glittering femininity. Where Lady Million leaned heavily into sparkle, aldehydes, and a bright, almost candy-like sweetness, Woody Raspberry softens that template and redirects it through a more naturalistic fruit and floral lens. The raspberry here is tart rather than candied. The white florals feel grown and garden-fresh rather than powdered or synthetic. And the honeyed amber base gives the whole composition a warmth that reads as skin-like rather than performative.
