The beginning
DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom Eau So Intense arrived in 2012 under the DKNY fragrance umbrella. Perfumer Trudi Loren, who worked within the Estée Lauder Companies network, composed this flanker to extend the Be Delicious conversation into warmer, more floral territory. The original had built its reputation on a crisp green apple signature, and the brief here was to let that energy breathe out into something fuller and more petal-heavy without losing the urban snap that made the first scent click with so many wearers. Loren built the composition around apple blossom as the through-line, anchoring it with citrus zest at the top and a soft white-floral midsection before settling into a quiet musk and woods base.
What makes the composition work is its restraint with the floral notes. Rose, violet, and lily of the valley sit at the heart, but they're cushioned by the apple blossom opening and anchored by musk and woods underneath. Rather than competing for attention, the florals trade turns leading, which gives the scent a quality most fruity florals miss: it breathes. The citrus at the top doesn't just sparkle and vanish. It lingers, threading through the roses like sunlight through a curtain, keeping the whole thing from tipping into syrup.
The evolution
