The beginning
Cher's Decades Collection arrived in 2022 with four fragrances, each tied to a defining era of the singer's legendary style. 80's Couture captures the decade that made glamour a contact sport, excess, boldness, and unapologetic shine. The perfumers at DSM-Firmenich built this one around bright citrus and white florals, a combination that mirrors the era's relationship with glamour: no wallflowers, no quiet exits.
The note structure is interesting because it balances retro with modern restraint. Mandarin and pomelo open bright and effervescent, a citrus style that feels unmistakably 80s in its optimism. Gardenia and honeysuckle bring the heart, lush, tropical, a little decadent. The cashmere wood and tonka bean base keeps everything warm and close, preventing the florals from flying too far into the avant-garde. The evolution
