The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Verte arrives from Azha's Butterfly Nebula Collection, a name that suggests transformation, impermanence, the luminous edge of something passing through. The fragrance takes its name from the French word for green, but don't mistake that for simplicity. Green here is a starting point, not a destination. It's the color of something living, of a moment before it deepens into something else. Verte translates that idea into something you can wear: a fragrance that begins one way and arrives somewhere else entirely, arriving fresh and green before settling into warmth. The opening immediately delivers crisp, vibrant green notes that feel bright and alive, an immediate impression that captures attention without overwhelming.
Iris brings a powdery, almost tactile quality to the heart of Verte, the smell of something soft and refined, of violet and violet leaf arranged carefully in a space that values restraint. It doesn't shout. It doesn't need to. Leather anchors the iris with something slightly animalic, slightly worn, keeping the powdery quality from becoming precious. The violet then adds a floral dimension that bridges the gap between the green opening and the creamy base.
The evolution
Verte's green opening doesn't last long, which is exactly the point. The cardamom and cypress recede, replaced by the powdery softness of iris and violet rising from the heart. It happens gradually, almost imperceptibly, until you realize the fragrance you're wearing no longer smells like the one you sprayed. The leather announces itself quietly, warm and slightly animalic beneath the floral notes, keeping the composition grounded. The drydown is where Verte earns its name, creamy, warm, intimate. Ambergris adds a subtle oceanic depth that prevents the vanilla from becoming sweet. As the fragrance settles into its final phase, the warmth becomes more pronounced, wrapping close to the skin in a way that feels personal and inviting.
Cultural impact
Cardamom has deep roots in Gulf and Levantine cultures, used historically in coffee, sweets, and traditional medicine. Cypress carries symbolic weight in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern traditions, associated with mourning, protection, and spirituality. These ingredients bring specific olfactory qualities to Verte that feel both grounded and evocative. The cardamom contributes a spicy, slightly sweet dimension that adds complexity to the opening, while the cypress provides green, aromatic notes that support the fragrance's fresh character.
