The beginning
Attraction Closer for Him landed in 2024 as part of Avon's recent push into men's grooming. Avon has long reached people through personal connection rather than prestige channels, and Closer follows that brief: a men's fragrance built for the wearer who wants a memorable scent for every occasion without overthinking it. Avon's fragrance team constructed a composition where fruit and spice lead the first impression before giving way to warmer materials underneath. Apple, pear, and pink pepper form an opening that reads crisp and modern, while leather, tonka bean, vetiver, and a skin accord anchor the base in something denser and more grounded. The result is a fragrance that pulls you in through scent, not spectacle, staying close to the wearer rather than broadcasting across a room.
Born from Avon's 2024 men's grooming refresh, Attraction Closer for Him was developed as a warm, intimate men's release. The brand leaned on Orpur® and Natsublim™ extracts to bring a naturals-forward quality to the build, aiming at men who wanted closeness in how a fragrance wears. The pink pepper CO2 Orpur® brings a clean snap to the opening, Osmasylk Natsublim™ gives the leather a softer, more natural texture, and Venezuelan tonka bean absolute adds warmth to the base.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes belong to the fruit and spice. Apple hits bright and crisp, pear adds a softer juiciness beneath it, and pink pepper CO2 Orpur® cuts through both with a clean snap. By the 30-minute mark the leather moves in, quietly warming the fruit and replacing brightness with a denser, more textured mid-phase. Osmasylk Natsublim™ contributes a softer, more natural texture to that leather, easing the transition rather than smothering it. After two hours the drydown takes over. Venezuelan tonka bean absolute deepens everything, pulling the leather into something almost amber-like, while Vetiver Des Sables India Orpur™ grounds the composition. The skin accord does exactly what its name suggests: makes the whole thing feel like it's emerging from you rather than sitting on top.
