Why it exists.
The beginning
Tabacco+ arrived in 2024 from the Alex+ collection, which has released a series of compositions across different scent directions. Each release stakes out its own ground, and Tabacco+ takes the gourmand route with no hedging. Perfumer Arturetto Landi built the composition around two centers of gravity: golden honey and cured tobacco leaf. The brief sits right in the bottle name. This is not a tobacco fragrance wearing honey as an accessory. It is honey and tobacco in equal conversation, supported by a frame of hazelnut warmth and dark patchouli underneath. The result reads as deliberate indulgence, the kind of scent built for cold weather and low light, and the opening sets the tone immediately.
What makes this composition unusual is the layering of edible warmth over an already rich base. Hazelnut and coconut in the top give a praline-like creaminess that most tobacco fragrances skip entirely. The bitter orange cuts through just enough to keep that sweetness from collapsing into sugar. Then tobacco appears twice, in the heart and the base, which means it never really leaves. It weaves through the honey, under the vanilla, and into the patchouli's dry earth, and the threading is what holds the whole shape together.
The evolution
Tabacco+ opens on a bright, almost playful note where hazelnut and blackcurrant meet a soft tropical edge of coconut, before the composition tilts into its honey-tobacco heart within the first half hour. That middle phase carries the weight of the wear: dense, golden, gourmand-leaning, and unmistakably warm. Over the next several hours, the sweetness gradually recedes as vanilla and patchouli take over, leaving a skin-close, quietly smoky impression that lingers well past the six hour mark.
Cultural impact
Tabacco+ leans further into the gourmand register than most tobacco-honey compositions, and the hazelnut and coconut opening give it a dessert-adjacent warmth that wearers describe as the scent of a late autumn evening. It suits cold weather and intimate settings, where the sweetness can settle close to skin without feeling heavy in open air. The hazelnut gives the opening a roasted, almost praline-like edge that sets it apart from tobacco fragrances that lean smoky or leathered, and the coconut adds a soft creaminess underneath that smooths the transition into the heart.
