The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Stella arrived in 2014 as part of the expanding Angry Birds scent universe, this time built around the franchise's fierce pink heroine. Air-Val International designed it to capture Stella's spirit: bright on the surface, softer and warmer underneath. The 50 ml eau de toilette debuted at TFWA 2014 in Cannes alongside sister editions King Pig, Red Bird, and Yellow Bird. The brand positioned Stella for the young woman who loved the game and wanted something fun, playful, and unmistakably hers. It is a fragrance that wears fandom openly. It doesn't disguise the fact that it comes from a mobile game about flinging birds at pigs. It celebrates it. That honesty is the point. The pink bird flacon tells you what you're getting before you spray.
The composition leans into an interesting tension for a children's fragrance: a sweet fruity-floral structure anchored by genuine warm notes underneath. Stella pairs crisp citrus and apple with aniseed at the heart, which adds a soft warmth that lifts it above typical fruit-and-flower territory. The aniseed does real work here, bridging the playful top and the cozy base so the whole thing reads as layered rather than flat. Then the base commits to amber and vanilla, giving it a warmth that clings to skin instead of vanishing. There's something quietly confident about that choice.
The evolution
Angry Birds Stella debuted in 2014 as part of the licensed fragrance collection by Air-Val International, timed to the popular mobile game character of the same name. The bottle design reflected Stella's bold pink branding, and the scent leaned into a fruity-floral profile with apple, bergamot, and orange leading the opening. The pink flacon stands as the most immediate visual cue, tying the scent directly to the character it represents. Behind that candy-colored exterior sits a surprisingly considered composition, with aniseed bridging the bright top and the warmer base. Air-Val built out the broader Angry Birds collection with editions for several other characters from the franchise, and Stella's release marked a continuation of the brand's approach to character licensing through fragrance.
Cultural impact
Stella arrived in 2014 as part of Air-Val's broader Angry Birds collection, joining sibling editions including King Pig, Red Bird, and Yellow Bird. The fragrance debuted at TFWA 2014 in Cannes, targeting the young audience that made the mobile game a global phenomenon. It sits firmly in the licensed youth-fragrance category, where the appeal is more about wearing a beloved character than chasing the latest niche release. The pink flacon and Stella branding do the heavy lifting on store shelves, but the composition underneath shows real effort.
