The Story
Why it exists.
Gaël Montero designed Tender Amber in 2023 as a statement about what amber could mean to someone who hasn't worn amber before. The concept was to bring the warmth of amber forward while keeping the overall effect fresh and accessible. The composition relies on fruit notes to create an immediate brightness, with blackcurrant leading the way and tropical fruits supporting it. The floral heart arrives later, settling into the structure with rose and tuberose adding softness and depth. What resulted is a fragrance that moves confidently from bright to warm, maintaining clarity throughout its progression and never relying on heavy handedness to make its point.

The Beginning
The opening of Tender Amber leans into blackcurrant for its first impression. The note is tart, almost electric, giving the start a sharp sparkle that cuts through without feeling harsh. Sweet tropical fruits layer in, mango and passion fruit forming an accord that adds both sweetness and brightness in equal measure. Together, they create an opening that is vivid without being aggressive. The floral heart of rose and tuberose then works to slow everything down, adding body and warmth that the fruity top only suggested.
The Evolution
Tender Amber opens bright. Blackcurrant first, tart and electric, followed by tropical sweetness that adds depth without weight. The exotic fruits do the bridging work here, they keep the first minutes from feeling too sharp while the rose begins its slow approach. By the halfway point the florals arrive, rose and tuberose in concert, and the whole structure softens into something more intimate than the opening suggested. The amber was there all along, waiting underneath the top notes like a warm floor. Once the fruit fades it recedes gracefully, allowing the heart to expand and the base to emerge. The drydown is warm, slightly sweet, intimately close to skin. Rose and tuberose linger in the base, wrapped in amber, and the effect is soft rather than loud. The final stretch becomes a skin close whisper, subtle and inviting.
Cultural Impact
Tender Amber sits comfortably in the sweet fruity amber space, a category that has grown significantly in recent years as more wearers look for fragrances that offer complexity without an intimidating presence. The value for money proposition speaks for itself when you consider what the fragrance delivers: a complete arc from bright opening to warm close, with enough nuance to reward repeat wearing.

Tender Amber sounds like the moment when the evening begins to settle, warm but not heavy, bright but not sharp. The blackcurrant opening has an electronic quality, something cold and immediate that gives way to something warmer, more sustained. It is music that works at the edge of a room, not the center of it. The amber in the drydown suggests something analog, vinyl-warm, the kind of sound that sits close to the skin.
