Optimism arrived in 2022 as part of Victoria's Secret PINK's "For All" collection, a line built around the idea that color and scent together could shift a mood. The brand framed the fragrance around yellow: a color they described as holding energy, sunshine, and light. The concept was simple. Wear something that smells like the feeling you want to have before you've had it. Pineapple leads the opening, bright and almost candied, backed by citrus zest that lifts the fruit into something more sparkling than syrupy. Jasmine threads through the middle, soft and slightly creamy, lending a sweetness that reads more like a suggestion than a statement. Orange oil settles into the base, and here's where the composition earns its keep.
What's interesting here is the structure: pineapple opens, citrus and jasmine follow, and orange oil anchors the base. This one circles back to citrus in the drydown. Upcycled orange oil closes the arc, giving the composition a continuity that pure top-note citrus rarely achieves.
