Velixir built this 2026 release around a specific idea: something that pulls without possessing, that draws attention through restraint rather than spectacle. The name itself suggests a quality of wanting, an orientation toward something rather than the having of it, and the composition is built to embody that distinction. Bergamot and green notes at the top register as the initial pull, that quick intake of breath when something interesting catches your attention from across a room. The brightness is almost electric, a clean sharpness that demands notice without lingering too long in the foreground. Then the base of sandalwood and cedarwood refuses to resolve, holding the wanting open instead of answering it.
The structure is worth noting because it works against the obvious reading. Fresh-woody compositions tend to default to a single mood: either clean and aloof, or warm and enveloping.
