The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
X-Treme Lavender Therapy arrived in 2023 from The Dua Brand, a hybrid composition that pulls from two well-known reference points in the fragrance world. It layers the dense, aromatic intensity of Tom Ford's Lavender Extreme with the musky, skin-close warmth of Initio Parfums Musk Therapy, combining both profiles into a single Extrait de Parfum. Lavender sits as the protagonist of the formula, with every other element arranged in orbit around it. The Extrait de Parfum concentration gives the composition a heavier oil base than most lavender fragrances on the market, which tend to be released as lighter eau de toilette or eau de parfum sprays.
What makes the structure interesting is the conversation between materials that don't usually share space. Lavender, traditionally a top-to-heart note, sits over a base of sandalwood and tonka that gives the composition a grounded, almost architectural weight. The base notes do more than support the lavender; they reshape how it reads, turning what could feel like a clean herbal accord into something with darker, resinous undertones.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are almost aggressively fresh. Bergamot, lemon, and mandarin orange arrive in a bright, cold burst, the kind of citrus that reads sharp and clean, like cutting into fruit with a cold knife. Blackcurrant underneath adds that wine-like sourness. After about thirty minutes, the lavender finally takes the wheel. It doesn't arrive alone. Violet and magnolia soften the edges, geranium adds a green herbal sharpness, and cinnamon slides in warm and low, the kind of spice you feel more than smell. The heart phase is where this fragrance earns its name, dense, almost confectionery in its richness, the lavender blooming instead of fading. By the two-hour mark, the composition shifts into its base: white sandalwood, Indian sandalwood, tonka bean, and musk settle in together. The lavender doesn't disappear so much as it gets absorbed into the wood.
Cultural impact
X-Treme Lavender Therapy sits within a growing category of hybrid fragrances that combine elements from multiple well-known compositions, and it speaks directly to lavender enthusiasts who want something with more weight than a typical aromatic release. The composition draws on two recognizable reference points, Tom Ford's Lavender Extreme and Initio Parfums Musk Therapy, and merges them into a single formula that carries the herbal intensity of one and the musky, skin-close warmth of the other.
