The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
His Craving arrived in 2026 as part of The Dua Brand's Dua Designer Line. The nose behind it is Mahsam Raza. The name leans into desire without leaning into sleaze. It reads as want, not warning. There's a citrus opening built on apple, lemon, and bergamot, followed by a white floral heart where neroli, orange blossom, and a whisper of rose take their turns. The base settles into teakwood, patchouli, vanilla, and musk, each note placed with a kind of architectural intent. The neroli and orange blossom sit forward rather than getting buried, giving the composition a sunlit quality from the start. The teakwood in the base leans drier than the usual woody suspects, bringing a slightly resinous structure that holds the whole thing up without feeling heavy.
The white florals and the wood are handled with a lighter touch than you'd expect. Neroli and orange blossom get to sit forward in this composition, not as supporting players. The teakwood in the base gives the dry-down a drier, more architectural feel. Patchouli grounds everything without overwhelming it. And the vanilla arrives late, soft and rounded, acting more as a smoothing agent than a dessert course. The accords read as citrus, woody, white floral, vanilla, and musk, but the interesting move is how those categories share space rather than stacking.
The evolution
The opening belongs to the fruit. Apple and lemon hit sharp and juicy, cut by bergamot that's tart rather than soapy. Neroli enters within minutes, and the orange blossom follows close behind, pulling the composition into something that smells like sunlit skin and clean cotton. The rose barely makes itself known, more a whisper of warmth than a floral statement. As the wear progresses, the fruit recedes and the white florals settle into a softer register. Teakwood emerges with a dry, slightly resinous character, joined by patchouli that reads earthy rather than dirty. The vanilla arrives later in the dry-down, a smooth, almost weightless sweetness that rounds out the musk underneath. The base, musk, patchouli, teak, and vanilla, stays clean and close to skin for the remainder of the wear. Nothing projects aggressively. Nothing vanishes either.
Cultural impact
His Craving occupies the woody floral space with a clean, well-executed composition. The citrus opening of apple, lemon, and bergamot gives it a fresh entry point, while the white floral heart of neroli, orange blossom, and a hint of rose adds an airy lift. The base of teakwood, patchouli, vanilla, and musk provides a dry, slightly resinous foundation that holds throughout the wear. The fragrance reads as crowd-pleasing, office-appropriate, and versatile enough to handle both a Tuesday meeting and a Saturday dinner.
