The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The Dua Brand looked at matcha, a drink tied to centuries of ceremony, mindfulness, and stillness, and asked: what if we made it fun? Not irreverent. Not disrespectful. Just lighter. More playful. The ceremonial drink became the starting point, not the constraint. Green Tea Matcha MilkShake arrived in 2022 as part of the Original Blend Collection, translating the drink's familiar comfort into a fragrance that wears the concept rather than simply naming it.
Matcha is the defining material here, and that matters. It isn't a green tea note wearing a matcha costume, the vegetal, umami depth is real, the slight bitterness that grounds sweetness is present. This composition builds around that specificity. The banana, honey, and chocolate syrup layer sweetness like a drink order getting more elaborate. The mint keeps everything cool. The white musk and milk form the body, the actual liquid of the thing. What results is a fragrance that smells like the drink, not like someone describing the drink.
The evolution
The opening hits like a cold glass. Green tea and mint arrive together, bright and cool, then the banana surfaces quickly, ripe, almost sticky-sweet. Honey follows, pulling the sweetness toward something natural rather than synthetic. There's an almost jammy quality in the first twenty minutes, rich fruit and sugar pressed close to the skin. The matcha doesn't dominate immediately. It builds. By the time the heart settles, the green tea has taken on the earthy depth of actual matcha powder, and the chocolate syrup and pistachio arrive as a rich, nutty sweetness. This is the committed gourmand phase, the moment the fragrance fully embraces what it is. The drydown softens everything. White musk and milk carry the final hours, with vanilla and honey lingering close to the skin. The matcha fades last, leaving an impression of the drink long after the sweetness has settled. On fabric, expect six to eight hours. On skin, closer to six, with moderate sillage that stays present without announcing itself across the room.
Cultural impact
Green Tea Matcha MilkShake sits squarely in the gourmand tradition while reaching for something more specific: the matcha latte as a cultural artifact, consumed millions of times a week across coffee chains and dedicated matcha bars. The fragrance doesn't update that tradition, it translates it. Wearers who know the drink recognize it immediately. Those who don't still get a clear, committed sweet-creamy-green that smells like the actual thing, not a description of it.
