Exceptional For Him landed in 2023 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection, a line of handcrafted parfum extract fragrances. Mahsam Raza composed it as an amber vanilla with a boozy spine, threading rum through peach and spice before everything sinks into a maple-caramel base. The rum arrives sharp and dark, almost like a splash of something pulled from a wooden barrel, and it sets the tone for everything that follows. Peach softens that opening just enough to keep it from feeling like a straight-up cocktail, adding a fleshy sweetness that reads almost like fruit macerating in its own juice. Clove and cinnamon lend a dry warmth, the kind that prickles at the back of your nose rather than screaming for attention.
What's interesting here is the layering. Clove and cinnamon stack early, but the maple and bourbon vanilla underneath do the real work, pulling the sweetness toward dessert without tipping it there.
