The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Enamor arrived in 2021 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection. This one draws from Régalien Meftun, a Turkish label with a quiet, obsessive following. Enamor takes that source material and runs it through a boozy, resin-soaked filter, layering cinnamon, cognac, and rum over a bed of incense and patchouli. The cinnamon arrives with a dry, almost peppery heat that settles into the darker base notes within minutes. Cognac contributes a fermented sweetness, while rum smooths the sharper edges of the spice accord. Patchouli anchors the composition with its earthy dampness, and the incense weaves a smoky thread through the entire structure. The result carries the mood of its source while shifting the emphasis toward warmth, sweetness, and resinous weight.
What's interesting here is the sheer density of the heart. Red berries sit next to birch leaf. Coriander and cinnamon dance around cognac and rum. Angelica, wormwood, ambrette, and incense stack into something that feels almost architectural. This isn't a simple spiced fragrance. It's a spiced fragrance that also wants to be smoky, earthy, and faintly boozy all at once. The berries add a fleeting tartness that cuts through the heavier resinous notes, while birch leaf contributes a green, slightly bitter counterpoint.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are a cinnamon-and-coriander handshake, bright and slightly sharp, with cognac warming underneath like a glass held too long. Rum arrives next, not loud, but present, giving the opening a boozy softness that rounds the edges. As the spices settle, red berries surface briefly, tart and fleeting, before patchouli and birch leaf take over the floor. The middle act is smoky and woodsy, with incense threading through ambrette's musky warmth. There's a resinous gravity here that pulls everything downward, grounding the spice into something denser. The birch leaf adds a cool, almost papyrus-like dryness that contrasts with the warmer boozy notes. Ambrette's musky quality creates a second-skin effect in the mid-phase, making the fragrance feel close to the body. By hour three, the drydown is pure amber-woods territory.
Cultural impact
Enamor sits within The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection, drawing from Régalien Meftun, a Turkish house with a quiet, obsessive following. The fragrance leans hard into the boozy, resinous side of the spectrum, which gives it significant presence on skin. It lands well in cooler weather when the spice and incense can do the heavy lifting. The cinnamon and cognac combination creates an opening that feels almost like a warming drink, while the incense and patchouli base provides the kind of smoky depth that cooler temperatures enhance.
