The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Desired Yacht takes its cue from Deep N Desire by the Parisian house EBK, a fragrance house that has been building a devoted following since 2019 for work that prioritizes richness and presence over restraint. The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection specializes in bringing compositions like this one to a wider audience without diluting the original spirit. The brief here was straightforward: capture the hedonism of open water and expensive decisions.
The grape-chocolate pairing is what separates this from the typical aquatic. Instead of salt and driftwood, Desired Yacht leans gourmand, but the citrus opening keeps it from becoming cloying. Camellia adds a floral softness that rounds what could have been a sharp contrast between tart bergamot and deep cocoa. The result is a fragrance that smells like the moment before sunset, when the water turns gold and the cooler comes out.
The evolution
The opening hits bright and immediate, bergamot and grapefruit arrive together, zesty enough to cut through warm air. Within fifteen minutes the camellia blooms, pulling the composition toward something softer. The hand-off matters here: the citrus doesn't vanish, it retreats, becoming a background hum beneath the florals. An hour in, grapes emerge, not grape candy, but something closer to the actual fruit, dense and slightly fermented. Dark chocolate follows, bitter and round, meeting the hazelnut in a warm, nutty mid-section that carries the fragrance for the next three hours. Cedar arrives last, dry and structural, preventing the base from ever becoming too heavy. On fabric, the chocolate and cedar linger into the following day, faint, warm, resolved.
Cultural impact
Desired Yacht sits at an interesting intersection: the Inspired Expression collection targets enthusiasts who already know the source material. The original Deep N Desire by EBK has earned recognition for quality and uniqueness despite limited releases since 2019. This expression makes that profile accessible to a wider audience, same composition, broader reach.
