The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Mahsam Raza built Creamy Cappuccino And Croissant in 2024 for The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line, a collection designed to capture the sensory shorthand of beloved designer compositions. This one goes straight for the breakfast tableau: a Paris café corner, the hiss of the steam wand, a croissant pulled still warm from a wicker basket. The brief wasn't subtle. It wanted the full scene, the kind you can almost taste. The result reads less like a perfume wearing a food costume and more like a memory that happens to project. The composition leans into the warmth of a morning spent lingering over coffee and pastry, the kind of slow hour where conversation stretches and the cup never quite empties.
The composition is dense for a gourmand, and that density is the point. Coffee CO2 anchors the top, a material prized for its roasted depth without the burnt edge that cheaper coffee accords lean on. Arabica coffee sits in the heart alongside milk and vanilla, layering creamy softness against the darker espresso note. Cade oil and Timbersilk add a smoked, slightly resinous undertone that keeps the sweetness from sliding into candy. It is a gourmand with a spine, the way a good cappuccino has the bitter shot underneath the foam.
The evolution
What begins as a frothy espresso cap dusted with cocoa softens into a milky heart, the caramel warmth rising as the coffee edge mellows. Steamed milk, a swirl of hazelnut, and the faint bitter-sweet snap of fresh crema carry the opening into a softer middle where the roasted bean note braids with vanilla-bean sugar. By the drydown the croissant note comes forward, a buttery, baked-gold warmth laced with vanilla and a wisp of yeasted pastry crust that lingers on skin like the last sip of a long brunch shared with someone who laughs too easily. The transition between phases feels deliberate, each stage building on what came before while introducing a new texture to the experience. The opening brings that immediate rush of hot coffee, bold and inviting, while the heart softens into something more enveloping, a milky sweetness that wraps around the earlier roast.
Cultural impact
Creamy Cappuccino And Croissant draws from an immediate, recognizable source material that almost everyone has experienced, the morning ritual of coffee and pastry shared in a café setting. That universality gives it broad appeal, tapping into a shared cultural memory that requires no explanation. The fragrance translates that everyday pleasure into something wearable, offering a sensory shortcut for anyone who wants to carry that café moment with them throughout the day. The coffee-and-pastry combination reads as comfort without effort, the kind of scent that fits naturally into casual settings and quieter moments alike.
