The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Andy Tauer created Rose Flash as the opening statement for Tauerville, his diffusion line launched in 2014. The concept was simple: take the rose, real rose absolute, and let it be everything. The fragrance opens with an immediate burst of sweet, dense rose absolute, the kind that feels almost syrupy in its richness, like thick preserves or Turkish delight. Rose Flash is concentrated, honest, no ceremony required. It doesn't build or evolve dramatically; it simply arrives and asserts itself, projecting strongly and refusing to leave. The rose is everything, unapologetically present from start to finish.
The 20% concentration is the key detail. This is almost a parfum. That concentration is what gives Rose Flash its characteristic thickness, the jammy, almost syrupy quality that wearers describe as Turkish delight or thick raspberry preserves. Tauer deliberately didn't publish a full ingredient list, asking instead that the scent be experienced whole, not dissected. But the structure is legible on skin: rose absolute dominates, supported by enough resin and wood to keep it from becoming purely sweet. It's rose that behaves like a parfum.
The evolution
The rose absolute arrives in full force, sweet and dense, the kind of red that feels almost sticky. Within minutes, the resinous warmth underneath begins to build, adding amber depth that prevents the sweetness from flattening. The woody notes then ground the composition without softening it. The fragrance settles into its main character: a warm, jammy rose that projects strongly and holds steady. This is not a fragrance that evolves dramatically. It arrives complete and simply waits you out, maintaining its bold, concentrated presence throughout wear. The sweetness and the resinous warmth remain in conversation, with neither element overpowering the other. The overall impression is one of unapologetic richness, a rose that refuses to be subtle.
Cultural impact
Rose Flash occupies a specific niche for those seeking concentrated rose without added complexity. Discontinued but still sought after, the fragrance remains notable for its bold, honest approach to the rose note. The high concentration and straightforward composition offer a different experience from more layered perfumes, appealing to those who want the rose itself as the entire statement.
