The name says it all: Civette, French for civet, no translation needed. This isn't a fragrance that hints at animalic. It announces it. The green notes and moss exist to frame the civet, to give it somewhere to breathe, but make no mistake, the civet is in command.
What makes this composition work is the counterbalance. Civet on its own can tip into something feral, unwearable. The moss and green notes ground it, pull it back toward earth. Pritzkoleit's pharmaceutical background shows up here, the systematic understanding of how materials interact, how to push one element far enough without losing control entirely. The woody notes bridge the gap between raw animalic and structured base, letting the civet speak without drowning everything else out. The evolution

The two dance for a couple of hours, neither dominating completely. Then the woody notes emerge more prominently, adding structure and moving the composition toward its drydown phase. By hour six or seven, you're in powdery amber territory, softer, closer to the skin, the civet reduced to a whisper. On fabric the next day, there's still a trace. A reminder that something wild happened here.
