The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Ghost With the Most comes from Sixteen92's Spring/Summer 2024 collection, Recently Deceased, an eight-piece tribute to Tim Burton's 1988 Beetlejuice. Ghost With the Most is the chapter dedicated to Betelgeuse himself, the crude-obsessed bio-exorcist with the striped suit and the bite. The composition opens with a pepper-cardamom crackle that snaps like a struck match before the heavier notes settle in. Snake leather arrives quickly, dry and papery, reading more like shedding scales than polished boots. Cannabis weaves through the musk rather than sitting on top, giving the heart a herbal undertone without overwhelming it. Black cardamom and pepper stack into a smoky haze that lingers through the first hour.
Baxter went somewhere stranger with this composition, leaning on snake leather and cannabis as a textural pair that keeps the fragrance from reading like a gimmick. The reptile-skin dryness grounds the herb, letting the cannabis read as atmosphere rather than stoner shorthand. Black cardamom and pepper build the smoky haze that gives the opening its almost volcanic heat, crackling at the edges before softening. Ambroxan and musk do the heavy lifting in the base, the ambroxan bringing a salt-skin warmth while the musk adds depth and shadow.
The evolution
The first spray hits sharp, pepper and cardamom crackling at the edges, almost like a struck match. Within minutes, the snake leather surfaces, that dry, papery note that reads as skin shedding rather than boots. Cannabis arrives quietly here, woven into the musk instead of sitting on top. The ambroxan builds slowly, bringing a salty-skin warmth that grows more pronounced through the first hour. By hour three, the composition has settled into something closer to skin than scent, musky, faintly smoky, with a residual cardamom coolness that pulses on every movement. The drydown is where this one becomes addictive: warm musk, faded pepper, and the ghost of leather clinging to fabric well into the next day. Sillage stays close, a presence rather than a statement, and longevity carries through a workday before drawing close to the skin.
Cultural impact
This is a fragrance for the Beetlejuice devotee who wants their scent wardrobe to read like a filmography. The carnivalesque character, all smoke and scaled leather, gives it more theatricality than the brand's more wearable offerings, which is either the point or the problem depending on the wearer. Ghost With the Most leans fully into its reference, treating the bio-exorcist as a jumping-off point for something stranger and more textured than a straight homage. The snake leather and cannabis pairing keeps it from tipping into costume, while the ambroxan-musk base grounds the composition in something genuinely wearable.
