Why it exists.
The beginning
Sanctuary named their 2022 release after the Saola, translating the animal's vanishing habitat into something wearable. The brief became the environment itself: pineapple for tropical sweetness, green notes for humidity, jasmine for what survives underneath. Peach skin rounds the edges, patchouli darkens the floor, and musk carries the whole thing forward like warm air through wet leaves. The pineapple reads as lush and just-cut, the leaf green as crushed vegetation still releasing moisture, and the jasmine sambac brings an indolic intensity that feels closer to night-blooming flowers than clean laundry. Peach skin is the quieter note in the mix, less of a ripe fruit than the soft, slightly waxy warmth of fruit held in a hand.

The evolution
