The beginning
1995. Nautica had built its name on travel-inspired clothing that moved effortlessly between cities, climates, and occasions. The fragrance line was a natural extension, a way to complete the narrative when you couldn't wear the jacket. Jean-Claude Delville approached Classic as a study in restraint. The result was a citrus-floral-fresh composition that opened bright, softened through the heart, and settled into a clean, skin-warm drydown. It wasn't trying to be remembered. What makes Classic interesting isn't what it adds, it's what it leaves out. The honeysuckle and syringa heart isn't a bold floral declaration.
