The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
In 2023, Mugler returned to jasmine sambac for Alien Goddess Supra Florale, calling on perfumers Marie Salamagne and Nathalie Lorson to work with the note. The composition centers on three flowers: cactus blossom, jasmine, and immortelle. Cactus blossom provides a crisp, mineral-green quality that recalls the desert origins of succulent plants, while immortelle brings its characteristic honeyed warmth. This three-flower structure honors the house tradition of pushing floral materials to their extreme while introducing mineral character as a unifying thread.
The three-flower philosophy here is deliberate. Cactus blossom brings mineral-green freshness, jasmine provides pure floral heart, and immortelle bridges both with honeyed warmth. Mineral moss in the drydown completes the arc by replacing green mineral with earthier mineral depth. This pairing creates a fragrance where mineral character threads through every phase, giving Alien Goddess Supra Florale a coherence that elevates it beyond simple floral territory.
The evolution
The fragrance opens with cactus blossom and pear, mineral-green freshness meeting juicy fruitiness. As the opening recedes, jasmine sambac emerges at the heart, pure and floral, soon joined by immortelle's honeyed warmth. The drydown settles into mineral moss alongside lingering immortelle, the mineral-earth quality replacing the earlier mineral-green freshness. Throughout all three phases, mineral character persists, evolving from crisp green to grounded earth.
Cultural impact
Alien Goddess Supra Florale arrived with a focus on mineral clarity within a floral context. The advertising campaign features Willow Smith, tying the fragrance to her distinctive presence. The mineral clarity and intensity of the scent align with the house's positioning, and Supra Florale reads as a distinctive take on florality rather than a conventional one.
