Winter, known for his precise hand with citrus and his sensitivity to texture, accepted the brief and immediately gravitated toward pairing bright citrus with translucent florals, trusting that the juxtaposition would generate the tension the brief demanded. The choice of jasmine tea as the heart note reflects Winter's interest in bridging the aromatic and the olfactory, using a familiar scent category to ground the more abstract floral elements. The inclusion of mandarin in the opening was deliberate, not incidental, because its sweetness tempers the tartness of the citruses and prevents the top register from reading as harsh or synthetic.
