Why it exists.
The beginning
Zante emerged in 2023 from Sophie Labbé, a Memo Paris perfumer working within the house's signature approach: each fragrance begins with a place that moved them, a desire to bottle that feeling permanently. Part of the Graines Vagabondes collection, Zante translates the Ionian Sea into liquid, not a literal scent of Greek coastlines, but the emotional register of that geography. The brief was clear: capture freshness that doesn't evaporate the moment it hits skin, that carries enough warmth to still be interesting hours later. Labbé built Zante around the tension between bright citrus and aromatic herbs, letting each amplify the other until the composition holds rather than fades.
What makes Zante work is restraint. A lesser perfumer would have let the citrus run riot, bergamot and mandarin screaming freshness until the whole thing collapses into something thin and forgettable. Labbé threaded rosemary and lavender into the heart, not to change direction but to extend the opening's energy. Neroli bridges the gap between the bright top and the warm base, keeping the transition seamless rather than dramatic. The amber and Indonesian patchouli base is the tell: it's where most fresh fragrances abandon you entirely, leaving skin bare.
The evolution
