The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Haya is named for a concept in Arabic, Haya carries meanings of life, vitality, and a quiet sense of grace. In 2022, Lattafa Perfumes created this fragrance to capture exactly that energy: the feeling of something finally going right. The brief was simple, a scent that celebrates without being frivolous, sweet without apology, and feminine in the way that walks into a room and doesn't ask permission.
The unusual pairing of Champagne and strawberry in the top accord gives Haya an effervescent quality rarely found in this price range. Most fragrances at this level use synthetic aldehydes to simulate that bubbles-and-celebration feeling. Here, the real Champagne note creates something more genuine, a bright, almost sparkling quality that makes the strawberry and blood orange feel like a toast rather than candy. The vanilla orchid heart doesn't compete with this brightness. It deepens it.
The evolution
The opening hits fast, blood orange and strawberry arrive together, immediately joined by a Champagne note that genuinely sparkles. Tangerine threads in to keep things citrus-bright. This effervescent phase lasts about 20 minutes before the florals take over. Gardenia and jasmine arrive as a creamy wave, not a gradual shift. Vanilla orchid amplifies the creaminess until the composition reads as white floral custard. The base arrives quietly. Amber and sandalwood settle close to the skin, but the chestnut note adds a toasted, slightly nutty quality that distinguishes Haya from a standard sweet floral. The drydown lasts 6-8 hours on most skin types, close enough to be intimate, present enough to be noticed when you move.
Cultural impact
Haya occupies a specific space in the Lattafa lineup, not the smoky, oud-forward territory of their heritage line, and not the aggressive projections of their bolder releases. It's feminine, sweet, and celebratory without being juvenile. Wearers describe it as the scent of someone who walks into a room and doesn't need to announce themselves, confident in a way that invites rather than demands attention.
