The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Ansaam Silver arrived in 2022 as part of Lattafa's expanding unisex portfolio, a house known for its growing range of fragrance offerings. The name 'Ansaam' carries a sense of elegance and luminosity. For this release, the house leaned into contrast: bright, spicy top notes that grab attention, wrapped in a sweet, powdery heart that keeps people leaning closer rather than stepping back. It is a fragrance designed for the moment you want to be remembered without announcing yourself. The opening burst of citrus and warmth creates an immediate impression that is both inviting and sophisticated, while the lingering base notes provide a soft, memorable trail.
The choice to anchor Ansaam Silver around Davana and vanilla sets it apart from the standard Lattafa template. Davana, related to artemisia, brings an aromatic, slightly honeyed sweetness that reads as both floral and slightly unconventional. The heart of lavender and davana creates a creamy, powdery middle ground that bridges the fresh opening and the gourmand drydown. Vanilla appears prominently in the base, working alongside amber and patchouli to create a warm finish.
The evolution
The opening is sharp, sweet, and immediately likeable. Bergamot and cardamom arrive together, with the cardamom providing warmth and the bergamot cutting through with bright citrus. The davana begins to show itself, bringing a distinctive sweetness that many describe as bubblegum-like. This sweetness contrasts with the herbal quality of the lavender, creating an interesting balance between playful and grounded. The heart phase shifts the fragrance from sharp to smooth. What was bright becomes creamy. The drydown is where Ansaam Silver earns its reputation. Vanilla and amber build slowly as the floral-herbal heart fades, creating a warm, powdery finish that sits close to the skin. Patchouli keeps everything grounded, adding a faint earthiness that prevents the sweetness from becoming overwhelming. On fabric, the vanilla can linger for many hours.
Cultural impact
Released in 2022, Ansaam Silver quickly developed a reputation among fragrance communities for its sweet-fruity character and strong longevity. Comparisons to the Azzaro Wanted series, particularly Wanted by Night and The Most Wanted, have been consistent, with with users noting the shared DNA of warm spice, sweet fruit, and vanilla drydown. The bubblegum-like quality of the davana has become the fragrance's signature element, a distinctive aromatic note that draws attention and sparks conversation among enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
