The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
La Rive's 2003 debut collection included Have Fun, a fragrance that named its philosophy outright. The brand, based near Poznań, had just begun building its production facility when this composition arrived. Not a statement piece. Not a prestige launch. A fruity-floral built for the woman who wants to smell good and keep moving.
The structure is deliberate: bright opening fruits that announce themselves immediately, a floral heart that softens without disappearing, and a clean base of musk and sandalwood that anchors everything for a few hours. No tricks. No drydown surprises. Just a straightforward fruity-floral that does exactly what the name promises.
The evolution
Strawberry and raspberry arrive within seconds, sweet, tart, almost juicy. The blackcurrant adds a slight depth, a hint of something darker beneath the brightness. Within minutes, peony and rose emerge, turning the corners rounded. Freesia brings a coolness, a whisper of something clean that keeps the florals from getting heavy. By the time you hit the second hour, the musk and sandalwood are doing the work. Close to the skin. Warm. Still sweet, but settled. Most wearers report 4-6 hours before it fades to a quiet trace.
Cultural impact
Have Fun sits comfortably in the mass-market fruity-floral tradition, fragrances that prioritize wearability and value over complexity. Wearers describe it as the scent of someone who doesn't need to announce themselves. Comparable to Escada Moon Sparkle and Naomi Campbell Paradise Passion in spirit, though La Rive's central European production keeps it in a different price category.
