The evolution
The opening is a controlled burn. Rum and saffron arrive together, the saffron's spice cutting through the alcohol's warmth in a way that reads almost medicinal. When the flowers finally recede, the oud takes over completely. This is the smoky, resinous, slightly animalic real thing. Patchouli and guaiac wood frame it without sweetening it. The vanilla in the base exists as a whisper, barely detectable unless you're specifically hunting for it.
