Three jasmine varieties anchor the fragrance, each contributing its own facet of the flower's complex personality. The evolution
The opening arrives with bergamot and ginger CO2 cutting through, sharp and alive, before the jasmine overwhelms the air. Early on, this is a jasmine that doesn't negotiate. The indolic, almost animal quality that jasmine lovers chase and everyone else flees from sits right at the surface, unapologetic and present. The sambac rounds it out, softening the edges without dulling the effect. Jasmine leaf keeps things green throughout, a stem-note that prevents the sweetness from becoming cloying. As the fragrance wears, something shifts. The musky notes begin to surface, and the soil tincture makes its presence known.
