The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
French Avenue Luscious is a 2024 release from Fragrance World, a UAE fragrance house that grew from Deira's market stalls into a global operation spanning 150 countries. The name suggests something borrowed, a reference to Paris, perhaps, or the idea of it. But this fragrance isn't interested in copying. It's interested in commanding. The gourmand category gets crowded with safe choices. This one pushes.
What makes Luscious work is the restraint within the indulgence. The sweetness doesn't drown the nuts, it lifts them. Pistachio and peanut get to exist in their full, roasted glory because the honey and vanilla support rather than smother. The saffron adds a warmth that reads almost medicinal at first, then softens into something honeyed. It's an unusual combination that shouldn't work on paper. On skin, it does.
The evolution
The opening announces itself immediately, bergamot and cardamom arrive bright and almost sharp, giving way within minutes to the pistachio. The transition is quick, decisive. The heart phase belongs entirely to peanut and honey, creating a density that borders on edible. This is when the fragrance becomes what it is: sweet, nutty, warm. The drydown introduces vanilla and tonka, with musk lingering longest. On fabric, the honey stays close for hours. On skin, it can still be detected the next morning.
Cultural impact
Fragrance World has built its reputation on bold, high-impact fragrances at accessible price points. Luscious continues that approach, a dense, unapologetic gourmand that makes a statement. The peanut-pistachio combination is unusual, which means wearers either love it immediately or need time to come around. That's the mark of something that knows what it is.
