The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Time & Tide arrived in 2024 as part of the Alchemy Collection, Jessi Park's ongoing series of compositions. The name carries the brand's core tension: time as something that passes, the tide as something that returns. Park designed this fragrance around that contrast. Sea salt and ozonic notes capture the water itself, not a stylized ocean, but the real thing, the mineral sharpness of waves breaking over warm stone. Freshly laundered linen threads through the opening as a counterweight, keeping the marine quality from drifting into abstraction. There's a crispness to the linen that feels sun-dried, familiar in a way that grounds the scent. White florals arrive at the heart, adding warmth and a sense of the personal, the scent of someone who was there, not just the place itself.
What makes Time & Tide different from most aquatics is what it's not. Sea salt, ozonic accord, and linen work together to create a marine impression that's mineral and physical rather than aromatic and abstract. The linen note is the quiet structural choice that holds the whole composition together. It keeps the ozonic quality from floating away, anchoring it to something tactile and familiar. At the heart, white florals bloom through the marine layer, softening it and introducing warmth.
The evolution
The opening announces itself immediately: sea salt and ozonic accord, the kind of clean that hits when a wave breaks over warm stone and the air turns sharp and mineral. Linen threads through, keeping it grounded. No synthetic punch, just cold air and salt. It reads like the moment before you step in. White florals take over gradually. The ozonic quality doesn't disappear, it softens, becoming the breeze that carries the florals rather than the thing itself. Something heady and warm that pushes back against the mineral cool. The linen shifts too, becoming less crisp and more worn, more intimate. This is the heart of the fragrance, where it moves from concept to something you want to keep smelling. The drydown is where Time & Tide earns its reputation. Vanilla and tonka bean arrive quietly, blending with sandalwood to create a warmth that sits close to the skin.
Cultural impact
Time & Tide has a quiet confidence about it. It doesn't shout or perform, instead appealing to someone who wants to smell like they've been near the ocean without announcing it. The linen and white floral notes give it a personal quality that sets it apart from mass-market aquatics, offering something with more depth and nuance for those seeking a different kind of marine experience.
